Server Rules

Be Respectful

  • All players must treat others with basic respect in and out of character.
  • Harassment, bullying, targeted trolling, and intentionally ruining someone's time is not tolerated.
  • We're all here to have fun and create meaningful scenes.
  • "I was in character" is not an excuse.
  • Respect staff decisions and follow their instructions.
  • Keep out-of-character disputes private and away from public channels.
  • Do not engage in discriminatory behavior based on race, gender, religion, or orientation.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a welcoming community.
  • Report issues through proper channels instead of escalating conflicts.
  • Remember that there are real people behind every character.

Reporting Requirements

  • All reports made against other players must include video evidence (clips).
  • Reports without clips will not be reviewed unless the situation is exceptionally severe.
  • Clips should clearly show the rule break, lead up, and context of the situation.
  • Screenshots are not accepted for most cases unless the violation can be fully proven through images.
  • Do not crop or edit clips in a way that removes context, doing so may result in the report being dismissed.
  • False or intentionally misleading reports may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Include timestamps and relevant information with your evidence.
  • Store evidence for at least 7 days after submitting a report.
  • Audio should be included to provide full context of situations.

No Random Deathmatch (RDM)

  • You may not harm or kill another player without a valid in character (IC) reason.
  • All combat must be initiated through proper roleplay and have a logical motive behind it.
  • Randomly attacking or killing others without justification is strictly prohibited.

No Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

  • Do not use vehicles to intentionally harm, ram, or kill others without a valid IC reason.
  • Driving must be done realistically, treat your vehicle like it’s your real car.
  • Using a vehicle as a weapon is only allowed when it makes sense in context and is roleplayed properly.

No Meta-Gaming

  • Never use out of character (OOC) information to gain an advantage in game.
  • Keep IC and OOC completely separate.
  • For example: watching a livestream, reading Discord messages, or hearing something OOC and using it IC is meta gaming.

New Life Rule (NLR)

  • After your character dies, you must forget the events leading up to your death.
  • You cannot return to the same scene or seek revenge.
  • Treat your respawn as a "new life." Allow time to pass before returning to the area.
  • Players now have a 5 minute bleedout timer. Police have the full 5 minutes to revive you. If an officer revives you at any point before bleedout finishes, the scene continues and you must roleplay your injuries. NLR only begins once you fully bleed out.

Fear Roleplay (FearRP)

  • You must value your character’s life at all times. If you do not it will be considered FailRP.
  • If a gun or weapon is pointed at you, you are expected to act with realistic fear.

Value of Life

  • Treat your character’s life as if it were real.
  • Recklessly risking your life for no reason (e.g., running into gunfire, charging armed robbers) breaks immersion and may result in punishment.

Scene Ownership

  • Once a scene starts, you may not insert yourself unless you have something to add to a scene or background with whoever is part of the scene. Ex. Frank gets pulled over and is getting arrested and Mendoza sees and he’s like “Wtf let my friend go”, “Free Frank”, “My boy (but sad)”. This is allowed

Maintain Character Backstory

  • Keep consistent with your character's background. Avoid acting in ways that contradict their established traits.

No Switching Jobs Mid Scene

  • Players are NOT allowed to switch jobs during an active scene (police interactions, criminal activity, medical calls, etc). This includes swapping to any other whitelisted or civilian job to avoid consequences, gain an advantage or change the outcome of the scene. You may switch jobs once the scene has fully concluded for all parties.

No Criminal Activity While On Duty / Using Job for Crimes

  • Players are not allowed to commit or assist in criminal activities while they are on duty, wearing a uniform, or using any job-related equipment or vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Using job vehicles or resources to transport illegal goods Using job authority or access to aid criminal activity
  • Performing crimes while in a job uniform Using job radios, locations, or systems to coordinate crimes
  • Exploiting job privileges to gain an unfair advantage in illegal acts If you are on duty, you must act in a lawful manner consistent with your job role.

Friendly Shootouts

  • Friendly shootouts are NOT allowed. You cannot tell the Police, EMS or staff you were simply having fun killing each other with guns, this will lead to punishment.

In City Reports

  • If you are stuck or experiencing a scene breaking issue, you can use /report and staff will assist you.
  • Example: /report I'm stuck in the bank vault with no way out.
  • Under no circumstances should you harass or disrespect staff - if you have an issue with a ticket decision, you may open a staff complaint.

Water Evading

  • Water evading is not allowed. Do not jump or drive into the water with the intent to hide in the water and use it to evade. This goes for evading both cops and other criminals. If you do go into the water, for example, drive your car into the ocean, you have to return to land immediately.
  • This does not mean you cannot escape in the water, it just means you must use a boat to evade over water.

Minimum Interaction Time for Criminal RP

All criminal interactions must last a minimum of 2 minutes.

  • This includes robberies, kidnappings, muggings, and any situation where force, intimidation, or crime is being initiated.
  • The 2 minute window must involve meaningful roleplay, not silence or stalling. Rushing scenes just to steal, kill, or farm loot is strictly prohibited.
  • Repeatedly targeting the same players or law enforcement without proper interaction or story development is not allowed.
  • If players fail to provide proper RP or immediately escalate to violence without interaction, it may be considered FailRP, RDM, or Low Quality RP and will result in punishment.
  • ALL criminal roleplay must have clear criminal intent from the moment the scene begins. This means players must enter the scene already knowing they are committing a criminal act, not deciding halfway through to turn a normal interaction into a crime.

Hostages

  • Police officers CAN be taken hostage when there is QUALITY RP behind it.
  • There is no minimum time required when taking a civ/crim hostage for criminal activities, you may approach them with a weapon already drawn and tell them to put their hands up as long as high quality roleplay is implemented (not asking them to be a hostage, but genuinely taking them as a hostage by force). Hostages MUST BE ABLE TO SEE THE WEAPON when you approach.

Robbing

  • When robbing someone, you are only able to take what they currently have in their inventory. This means that you cannot request bank transfers or force them to sell their cars to/for you.
  • You are not allowed to pocket wipe somebody (Take every single item from their inventory). You are allowed to take a MAXIMUM of 5 items.

Proper Use of Weapons

  • Weapons must be used logically and with proper reasoning. Do not carry heavy or illegal weapons without RP justification.

Combat Logging

  • Logging out, quitting, or restarting your game to escape an RP situation (e.g., arrest, robbery, or shootout) is strictly prohibited.
  • If you crash mid RP, return to the scene as soon as possible and explain the situation OOC if needed.

Going AFK

  • If you have to go afk, make sure to fly out or go to a private area in which you cannot be robbed. We will not return items if you have been robbed somewhere public while afk.

Taser & Detainment

  • If you are successfully tased 3 times during a single police interaction, you are considered overpowered and must stop attempting to flee or resist.
  • Continuing to run, fight, or evade after the third successful taser will be considered FailRP and Powergaming.
  • If you are downed, or incapacitated during a police interaction and are revived you are considered detained upon revival.
  • You may not immediately flee, resist attest, or attempt to escape after being revived.
  • You must roleplay injuries and comply with police instructions until the scene is fully concluded.

Respect Roleplay & Character Boundaries

  • Always respect others’ comfort zones and personal limits.
  • If someone is uncomfortable with a scenario, stop immediately.
  • Do not engage in explicit or sensitive RP without mutual consent.

Realistic Roleplay

  • Keep your roleplay grounded and believable within the world of Hollowpoint. Failure to do so will be considered FailRP.
  • Unrealistic stunts, random shootouts, or over the top criminal acts break immersion.
  • Injuries, fear, and consequences must be roleplayed properly.

Exploiting or Cheating

  • Any form of exploiting, glitch abuse, or use of third party software to gain advantage will result in a permanent ban.
  • If you discover a bug or exploit, report it immediately to staff instead of using it.

No Cop Baiting

  • Players are not allowed to intentionally provoke or harass law enforcement for the sole purpose of starting a police chase, shootout, or scene WITHOUT proper RP. This includes (but isn’t limited to): Repeatedly driving past officers at high speeds just to get pulled over Honking, yelling, or ramming into police stations to force interactions Purposely committing crimes in front of officers without roleplay context Harassing or stalking officers to trigger a response
  • If you are a gang member you should be scared to be locked up including civilians. This doesn't mean you radio to your friends for a simple traffic stop and turn it into a shootout. Play the scene out who knows maybe it's just a ticket but stop trying to have a W mentality and go along with the scene.

Storing Vehicles Mid Scene

  • Players are not allowed to store their vehicles in a garage during an active scene. This includes police interactions, pursuits, criminal activity, or any ongoing RP situation. (Doing so is considered powergaming)
  • If you need to ditch your vehicle, you can abandon it somewhere in the city.

Communication & Voice Chat

  • Use local voice for in character communication.
  • Use /ooc for out of character messages.
  • Do not mic spam, use soundboards, or play loud music over voice.
  • Keep communications clear, and respectful!

Join Names

  • Staff decisions are final. Arguing, harassing, or disrespecting staff will not be tolerated.
  • If you disagree with a decision, use the proper ticket system, not public chat.
  • No impersonating staff members.

Trolling / FailRP

  • Intentionally disrupting RP, ignoring fear, or acting completely unrealistic (dancing mid gunfight, using /me to troll) counts as FailRP and is punishable.

No Power-Gaming

  • Avoid forcing actions on others without giving them a chance to respond.
  • Roleplay realistically and consider the limitations of your character.
  • Forcing actions or situations onto other players without allowing them the opportunity to respond realistically.
  • Players must allow others the chance to respond to their actions. Overpowered or unrealistic scenarios that don't allow for reasonable interaction are not allowed.

No Default Characters

  • You must create your character when you first fly into the city. Do not attempt to roleplay as the default character you spawn in as. If you do not create your character at the beginning, please do /report and ask for a clothing menu from a member of staff or you can open a ticket in the Discord.

Realistic Character Names

  • Character names must be appropriate and realistic. Names containing any offensive language, “troll names,” or trademarked names that would break TOS are not acceptable and will result in character deletion and/or a ban.

/me

  • The use of /me is to be used only to further RP, for example, using them as actions. Using /me for any other reason is considered FailRP.

Roleplay Traffic Rules

  • Roleplay realistic collisions by exchanging insurance information and following proper procedures after an accident. Avoid using your vehicle as a weapon or intentionally causing collisions, as this detracts from the immersive and realistic environment

Speed Limits

  • Adhere to posted speed limits based on the road type. Excessive speeding not only breaks the immersion but also poses a safety risk to other players on the server.

Obey Traffic Signals and Signs

  • Follow the basic traffic rules such as stopping at red lights, yielding at stop signs, and obeying traffic signals. This adds a layer of realism to the driving experience and enhances immersion for all players.

No Unrealistic Driving

  • Players must avoid constant unrealistic stunt driving, improper off roading, or ignoring vehicle damage.

The Golden Rule

  • If a situation, behavior, or action is not explicitly covered in these rules, staff have full discretion to make a judgement call.
  • Exploiting loopholes, technicalities, or “it’s not in the rules” excuses will not protect you from punishment.
